The Craft
A Map of Indian Textile Craft
Pashmina is one craft within a much larger family of Indian textile and craft traditions. Lucr works exclusively with three partner ateliers in Kashmir, nowhere else shown here, the rest of this map is context: where our own craft sits inside the wider tradition it belongs to. Every state and Union Territory is on the map now, and all 36 work the same way: hover, tap, or tab any of them for a short overview. Ten states plus Kashmir also link through to a full page from there.
These outlines are real geography, not a hand-drawn sketch, traced from public-domain map data for all 36 states and Union Territories. Each craft is placed at the historic hub associated with it, not at a political border.

Pashmina, hand-spun & handwoven
Hand-spun pashm, worked in sozni needlework, tilla metallic thread, or woven directly into the cloth as kani. This is the only region Lucr actually sources from, everything else on this map is context, not our supply chain, see Sourcing & Ethics for exactly where our own three ateliers are.
Want the full-depth version of just the Kashmir side of this map? Read The Craft or The Pashmina Guide, or see Sourcing & Ethics for exactly where our fibre and our ateliers are.
